Question I saw your article on ESD control in the EE magazine of December and it was very interesting. We have to design a logil control circuit and I wonder if there is an other solution to protect the circuit from ESD other than diodes? Perhaps you can gives me some advises or referencies on this subject. –Anonymous
Answer Thanks for your interest. I have limited knowledge in what you are seeking. Check into Metal Oxide Varistors (MOVs)as they can help in controlling ESD damage by clamping the (power) inputs to sensitive devices preventing the current or voltage spikes from causing damage via EOS or ESD. Our specialty is with ESD Control products that minimize/eliminate the potential for generating/storing a large static charge thereby snuffing ESD before it can be detrimental to a sensitive electronic device. The design of ESD protection into electronic/semiconductor devices is a highly specialized field and does not encompass our strengths.
