Yes there is. ESD Shoes are designed to be conductive (with some level of resistance to electrical current) and thereby, if a large enough current is conducted through them, you may be at risk of electrical shock. In general, practitioners of ESD control use their equipment in controlled environments, i.e., < 240 VAC to minimize electrical hazard risks. When working strictly on electrical wiring or in lightning storms, it would be recommended to wear non-conducting shoes such as thick sole sneakers.
